Small means intimate…
Come and experience the Greater Kruger with us!One of South Africa's most popular and beautiful areas...
Your stay with African Trilogy is about more than just the Big Five and an amazing safari, it’s also the perfect way to explore the fabulous Greater Kruger region – one of South Africa’s most popular and beautiful areas packed with an amazing range of things to see and do.
One of the most popular of the day trips we offer to our guests staying at both eKhaya Bush Villa and with Nyala Safaris is the magnificent Panorama Route tour, taking in the sights of one of the most scenic regions of South Africa. Among these is the inimitable Bourke’s Luck Potholes, where the Treur and Blyde rivers meet and have carved huge cavities in the bedrock over countless millennia. A full-day tour of the Panorama Route also takes in the incredible Blyde River Canyon – one of the world’s largest green canyons – with breathtaking views out over the lowveld to be had from atop the Drakensberg escarpment. The tour also takes in the lovely little town of Graskop and a sample of some of the wonderful waterfalls that have made this region so popular with tourists the world over.
No visit to this area would be complete without a proper cultural experience, introducing you to the amazing people of this area and their traditions and heritage. We recommend our guests to visit Nyani Cultural Village where they can learn all about the various tribes of South Africa and the intricacies of their culture, music, dance and food! We can also arrange guided tours of a local village through Nourish – a local non-profit organisation that we support and that offers guests the chance to experience authentic cultural exchange and “live like locals” for a few special hours.
If you’re looking for something more adventurous, then we can organise helicopter flips over the Blyde Canyon, microlighting and rafting on the Olifants River. There’s also the chance to experience a wonderful sundowner cruise on the Blyde Dam and to visit one of our amazing wildlife rehabilitation centres.
The town of Hoedspruit itself is also worthy of exploration, and has some amazing restaurants, art galleries and curio shops.
